Prof. Donghyun Shim
 
Prof. Dong Hyun SHIM is the General Manager & Chairman of SNK IP and Chairman of Network committee in Licensing Executives Society (LES) Korea and recently retired from Intellectual Discovery as Executive Director. Before Intellectual Discovery Co., Prof. SHIM worked for Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. as General manager of Licensing Department of Digital Media Business and Manager of Business Development at Samsung Japan Ltd. Over 25 years of experience as negotiator in Samsung Electronics and Intellectual Discovery. Prof. C. Y. Huang
Dr. C. Y. Huang is a senior partner with Tsar & Tsai Law Firm and has more than forty years of experience in corporate and financial law with an emphasis on representing both Taiwan and foreign clients on cross-border transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, syndicated loans, venture capital financing and other complex commercial transactions.
Dr. Huang has achieved a pre-eminent position in insurance law practice in Taiwan, having represented more than half of the foreign insurance businesses operating in Taiwan and has been the legal counsel for the Insurance Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Taipei for many years lobbying on various insurance issues.
Dr. Huang is also one of the pioneers of Taiwan’s fair trade, customs and trade law practice. He is a member of the Ad Hoc Committee of the Board of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs from 1982 to 1986 responsible for drafting the Trade Act and is a member of the Trade Subcommittee of the Economic Reform Committee of the Executive Yuan in 1985.
Dr. Huang is a former law professor of National Chung Hsing University and Fu-jen Catholic University and a frequent speaker on insurance and corporate transactions for many organizations, including International Bar Association, Inter-Pacific Bar Association and Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel and has published several books on trade and commercial laws.
Dr. Huang is also an active member of various bar associations and trade organizations and is one of the founding members of the European Chamber of Commerce in Taipei.
 
 

 
 

Prof. Victor C. J. Cheng
 
Prof. Cheng is the most senior export on Intellectual Property.  He contributed enormously in particular to the integration of R&D development and practical products under legal protection and set up example models for Taiwan industry.  His dedication on academic Intellectual Property education covers from classroom to court rooms, with an enthusiasm to train students leveraged with global standards.  Prof. Cheng receive his Doctor of Judicial Science (SJD), Stanford University and Bachelor of Laws from Soochow University.  He is the founder of Unita Legal Office and Unita Intellecual Property Ltd. Prof. Yulan Kuo
Prof Yulan Kuo is the Director of the Technology Law Division and a Senior Partner of Formosa Transnational Attorneys at Law, one of the largest law firms in Taiwan.  His practice focuses on patent litigation, intellectual property, IT technology and biotechnology.
 
Mr. Kuo served as counsel of the Judicial Yuan, the highest judicial power of Taiwan, in establishing the Intellectual Property Court, which is in operation since July 2008.  His team also handled the 1st patent litigation as well as other leading cases adjudicated by the IP Court.  Mr. Kuo is a co-author of the “New Era of Intellectual Property Litigation”, the first book published specifically addressing the new IP Court, IP Litigation issues, and the IP Adjudication Law in Taiwan.  He also actively lectures and publishes various articles and books on IP topics.
 
Mr. Kuo counsels a broad range of high-tech companies, both international groups and local players with competitive advantages in the global market.  He represents numerous clients in protecting their intellectual properties, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, etc.  He also defends the clients’ freedom to operate in legal actions filed by its competitors.  Mr. Kuo is very active in patent practice in the China market.  He was invited to lecture in the Cross-Strait Patent Tribune 2009 held in China on the ECFA issue, and has been highly recommended as a leading lawyer in intellectual property by Chambers Global 2013 and others for many years. He has also been honored and rated as one of The World’s Leading Patent Litigators 2011 by the IAM Magazine.

Dr. Chun-ting Lin is an associate researcher, a chemist, a certificated patent analyst at the Headquarter of National Applied Research Laboratories, Taiwan, R.O.C.. He has experience in patent engineering, technology transfer and renewable energy. He is proficient in English, Japanese (JLPT N2), and Chinese.

Prof. Kwang Jun KIM
President/Professor Kwang Jun KIM is the president of Licensing Executive Society Korea, and joined Intellectual Discovery in 2015 as CEO/President. Prof. KIM also serves as an arbitrator and mediator of IIPAC (International IP ADR Center), the faculty of Global Negotiation & Mediation Program in Seoul National University and the guest professor in Korea Advanced Institute of Sci & Tech.  Before joining Intellectual Discovery which is the oldest IP management company initiated by Korean Government to against patent trolls, fortifying IP portfolios for domestic industries, focusing on IP related business such as licensing, M&A, standardization, Prof. KIM was the Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Samsung Display Co, and Vice President, Samsung Electronics IP Center with over 20 years’ experiences as lawyer, negotiator, and executive in major Global law firms, corporations, and investment firm. Prof. KIM’s experiences covers litigation, negotiations, and dispute resolutions in major international settings including negotiations/resolutions with global companies such as Apple, Nokia, Ericsson, Lucent, Kodak, Sharp, Seiko Epson, LG, Panasonic, AUO, E-k, BOE, and Japan Display Inc.  The areas of KIM’s experience include all facets of intellectual property, anti-trust, contracts, international disputes and licensing of major scale in US federal District courts, ITC courts, Australian, Chinese, Japanese, and Europe courts in electrical, materials, software, TVs, manufacturing equipment, component, and mobile handsets technology. Prof. Mei-Hsin Wang
Prof. Mei-Hsin Wang published a book [Law, Politic and Revenue Extraction on Intellectual property] by Cambridge Scholars Publishing in 2015, [Law Policy and Monetization on Intellectual Property] is commissioned to published in 2018.  Prof. Mei-Hsin Wang received her PhD in Chemistry from Imperial College, University of London under the supervision of Sir./Prof. CW Rees, FRS CBE, she is the Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), a Chartered Scientist certified by British Science Council, and Chartered Chemist certified by Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), 2017 Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime  Achievement Award. She further studied law and received LLM from SooChow University.  Currently, she teaches Chemistry, Legal Issues on Biotech, Intellectual Property, Cyber Law, Patent Mapping and Licensing at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology.
